How To Change Your Desktop Wallpaper
You can personalize the look of your computer desktop background by changing your desktop wallpaper. It's easy and you can use your own digital photos.
First, right-click in an open area of your desktop and choose "Properties" from the bottom of the resulting menu. You should then see the window shown below. From here click on the "Desktop" tab.

Next you'll see the the Desktop window shown below. In the Background window you'll find a series of free wallpapers provided by Windows XP. You can also click on the Browse.. button and locate a downloaded digital picture on your PC to be used as your background.

Once you have selected the background that you want, you'll have to decide how you want to display the background by using the Position feature. The Position feature gives you three options:
- Center - Choosing center will display your choice as a small picture in the center of your desktop with the rest of the desktop as a plain color.
- Tile - Choosing tile will show your photo as many small photos all over your desktop in a tile pattern.
- Stretch - Stretch will fill the entire desktop with your photo or image.
You can preview how your selection will look in the small monitor shown in the window above. When you find a setting that you like, just select Apply and OK at the bottom of the window and your desktop will complete the change.
