Mozilla Firefox

Many internet users have switched over to Mozilla Firefox and are no longer using Internet Explorer as their browser of choice. Internet Explorer's domination over the browser market has decreased in recent years, mostly due to security vulnerabilities.

At last count, Firefox now claims nearly 20% of the browser market, compared to Internet Explorer's 75%. The other 5% or so is claimed mostly by Apple's Safari browser as some consumers have chosen to switch to an Apple Mac ( MacIntosh as in a type of apple) computer.

Mozilla.org is a non-profit organization (they accept donations which are tax-deductible) whose mission statement is to promote a more open and communal internet environment, rather than a profit-driven corporate environment.

Software developers and programmers contribute source code free-of-charge designed to enhance the Firefox browser product. Other contributors can then build upon the existing code to enhance the Firefox browser or produce an "add-on". An "add-on" is a downloaded software product which can be "added" to Firefox to increase it's functionality and make it more customizable.
