Programs and Features

Programs and Features is the Windows Vista equivalent of the Windows XP Add/Remove Programs utility which allows you to install or remove software from your PC.

To begin, click on the START button which, in Vista, doesn't say START anymore, it's just the Windows Logo.

Next, click on Control Panel from the right-side menu. Then click on Programs, which will bring you to the Programs and Features window.

To uninstall a program, select it by clicking on it, and then click Uninstall. Some programs will allow you to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it. To change a program, click Change or Repair.

Once the software has been removed, you may be prompted to restart your PC to complete the removal. Most often, you'll be given a choice of whether to restart your PC now or later. If a restart is unnecessary the software listing will disappear from the list of Programs.
