Vista Desktop Background

Personalizing your Vista desktop background is very simple. As usual with Windows you have a couple of different ways of getting to the same place. The first and probably easiest way is to right-click your mouse in an open area of your desktop. This will create a menu on the desktop as shown below. At the bottom of the menu you'll see "Personalize". Left-click on it to open.

Once open, you'll see the window shown below. Here you have several different types of personalization options such as: Window Color and Appearance, Desktop Background, Sounds, Mouse Pointers, Theme, and Display Settings.

Since we are focusing on the Desktop Background for this tutorial let's left-click on "Desktop Background" to see what our choices will be. This will open the "Choose a Desktop Background" window as shown below. Here you will see many different wallpaper choices including solid colors , photos in color and black and white, and other shapes and textures. You can select any of the choices by clicking on them. Below the wallpapers you will choose how you want the wallpaper to be displayed, either full screen, tile, or centered. Just click OK when you have made your choices and your wallpaper will change change accordingly.

If you would rather use one of your own photos or another photo from the internet just click on the "Browse..." button to navigate to the photo of your choosing.
