Windows XP Service Pack 3

For my money, Windows XP Service Pack 3 is the most reliable Windows product yet. Well, at least since 2004 when Service Pack 2 was released.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of Windows XP. I use it at work and at home. It's been a reliable, easy-to-use system and I really don't want to give it up. I like to stick with what works, even though it may not be the newest thing on the block.

I know that eventually I'll have to switch over to Vista (when Microsoft gets it working properly) or Windows 7, but I'm in no hurry. I really haven't heard a compelling reason why I should stop using Windows XP, so I won't!

Service Pack 3 is now available through Windows Update. This will be the final Service Pack for XP, says Microsoft. I have installed SP3 and have found no problems as a result of the install. I recommend installing it when you have a chance. As a general rule of mine, I don't install service packs and updates as soon as they are made available. Too many times in the past problems have surfaced that were not known until the update was released to the public. I like to let someone else be the guinea pig. Always a wise choice when dealing with new Microsoft releases.
